Remembering 2020
In one word it would be classified as SANCTIFYING.
From the beginning of this year, I have continued to see God show me who is in control. Before Covid landed God was breaking down my idol of control and success more and more.
Then to add to my idol of control being broken, God in his humor gave me a LOT of time to think about it alone. And if there was one lesson that I could take away from this year it is this. I must constantly practice communing with God to have Him redeem all parts of my life.
Marriage with Joanna has been awesome. The woman of God who God gave me as a gift balances out my impulsion and craving for control so well.
At the end of November, Joanna and I moved to Winterset, and the transition has been so good. We feel very loved here and are ready to see what God has for us.
My bible reading plan ended today with Psalm One and the first two verses really stood out to me.
“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.”
This year has ended with more alone time for Joanna and I to be sanctified through spending time together. And something that has been so healthy for us is to be immersed in God’s word and other gospel centered resources.
God has used 2020 for us to see a bigger picture of who He is and to help us repent.
Here’s to 2021 and to more reasons to savor the glory and goodness of who God is!
